Christopher Nash

Chris says, " Hello Dolly!"

By day, Christopher Nash is a grip and dolly grip for television productions that shoot in the Dallas area.  On weekends, he’s alter ego Julius Ceasar Montegue, struggling actor for the Burrheado Brothers Television Broadcasters, the producers of The Movie Parody Network. Currently, Chris is smack dab in the middle of the action, creating content for the NBC series, Chase.

The other day I visited Chris on the set of ‘Chase’, and he briefed me on his job. Amongst his many reponsibilities is to set up the dolly tracks and make sure they’re level and secure. Once shooting begins he guides the camera dolly and makes sure it’s in the optimum position at every moment during the scene. According to Chris, it’s very exacting work and no one wants to make a mistake.

For Chris, acting is like a vacation away from the world of work, and to him, The Movie Parody Network is like an actors dream. By that, he means that each week he gets to play a different character, from straight man to side kick to eccentric to evil. Not only a great way to work on your acting chops, but keeps you from getting bored with the same character.

If you love the process and creativity, being on both sides of the camera is the way to go. Way to go, Chris!
