MPN Reunion

Feb. 18th, 2012. Oh what joy, a Movie Parody Network reunion…

Happily Ever After Cake

Happily Ever After Cake

… to celebrate our two sets of newlyweds… only one set didn’t show up. No matter, we muddled on the best we could under the circumstances.

Bethany and Greg are Married

A radiant Mr. and Mrs. Jones

Despite all their connections with the Airline industry, Mr. and Mrs. Jones (no really, that’s their real name) failed to get on their flight and missed a heck of a party, so we talked about them. After all, that’s what shallow people do when you’re not there to defend yourself.

But back at the ranch in the “did show up” category was the brand new Mr. and Mrs. Coleman Wallis couple. Not only were they among the first to arrive, but they were first to depart, presumably because they are newlyweds. I don’t know, and I had the good manners not to ask. However Patrick, possessing no internal filters, followed them out to their car, all the while pestering them as to why they were leaving so soon.

Cliff and Raven

Cliff and Raven throw up their favorite gang signs.

After a fine feast prepared by Jane  and followed by some unbearable socializing, ballots were handed out for the Academy Awards contest. Technically, The Movie Parody Network is not eligible for any awards due to the fact it’s a web series, but should it have been eligible, it would surely have swept many categories making the whole balloting process unnecessary.

Kyra and Jay

Kyra and Jay ponder the whereabouts of the missing cake piece.

The next day, after the completion of the Academy Awards, we tallied the ballots and learned that Jay Riha was the winning prognosticator with  12 out of 24 correct answers. Way to go Jay, our Oscar Champ! At the far end of the prognosticating skill set, was Krishna, Raven and Patrick with 6 correct predictions. It’s as much fun to list the people who don’t get out much, as it is to list the winners… don’t you think?

After balloting, we all adjourned to the studio to view some rough edits of season two of The Movie Parody Network and relive many of the delightful moments of season one.

Krishna, Patrick, Christopher and Coleman

During the evening we found out that a couple of our actors have projects in the editing or distribution stage. Christopher Nash has a role as a heavy in the  heist comedy, Wolf Head. See the Trailer here. It’s a very funny movie and Chris does his usual outstanding job. For more of Chris’ role, see his extended scene on his demo reel. Chris has also been busy with season three of the Web series, Sons of the Brotherhood, where he once again makes audiences feel uncomfortable with his reoccurring role as Justice; the head honcho, leader of the rebellion.

Brian and Jake

Brian and Jake get their drink on.

The lovely Krishna Smitha also has a couple of projects we hope to be seeing soon, and just as soon as she checks her emails, and replies to me, we’ll get that information from her and pass it on to you. What do you think Krishna, would it kill you to check your email once in a while?!!! Perhaps she’s still sulking over her last place tie in the Oscar contest? Krishna, look at the bright side, you beat Chris; he didn’t even turn in a ballot.

Humpty Dumpty

Humpty - moments before he was mysteriously pushed.

For those of you eagerly awaiting season two of The Movie Parody Network, try to find something to do with your hands until it’s ready.

  1. Mr. & Mrs. Jones says:

Hey, we didn’t make it because we’re newlyweds, too. Yeah. That’s it. And those airplane bathrooms are just TOO DARN SMALL!!!
