The past weekend signaled the beginning of new production for The Movie Parody Network. Work began with the movie parody “Inner Sanctamonium”, based on the 1948 movie, Inner Sanctum starring Charles Russell, Mary Beth Hughes and Dale Belding.
This shoot was especially challenging since it has so many sets and scene changes. In addition to the usual Club Martini set, we constructed a bedroom, a train car, a railway station and a forest of giant mushrooms.
What’s a forest of giant mushrooms doing in a film noir movie? Let’s just say it’s integral to the plot… or maybe it’s totally unnecessary, you decide.
Again, each scene was shot simultaneously with 2 cameras. This allowed us to capture two angles at the same time thereby speeding up the process. The time allotted for each movie parody is a svelte 12 hours total. This is over a 2 day period.
