In January of 2009 Photo Electric began pre-production on the web series; The Movie Parody Network. This series is based on our love of old film noir movies, as well as the styles and dress of the era. In it, we combine the hardboiled gritty characters with absurd lines and situations.
After months of writing, 8 parody scripts were polished and ready to go. During the summer of 2009 dozens of actors were auditioned. Finally, a core cast of 3 men and 2 women were selected and taping began on Sept. 26 2009 with the film noir parody, “Laura What’s her Name“, based on the 1944 movie “Laura“ starring Gene Tierney & Dana Andrews.
Principle photography was completed in March of 2010. With the first season in the can and post-production ongoing, the first webisodes began hitting the internet in June 2010.
